At Patrice’s Art of Beauty we are passionate about creating perfect eyebrows customised to our clients needs. With semi-permanent makeup becoming an increasingly popular procedure, techniques are improved regularly. To get the stunning and lasting results you require, we are constantly innovating our services to include the latest looks and techniques including; embroidery, 3D, hair strokes and power brow. Patrice is completely unique in her approach to all semi-permanent makeup procedures. Her 2 stage process ensures the results are elevated and that the most natural looks possible are created. EVERY season we’re treated to a new variation upon “natural” beauty.
Almost more of a non-trend than a trend, the aim is to achieve a raw, natural-looking beauty using make-up to conceal flaws and to define features rather than to completely transform (and yes, that means no mascara). The only make-up used at Alexander Wang and Balmain was a little concealer where it was needed, whilst at Christopher Kane, Guido Palau merely washed and dried hair before adding a little oil to tame any frizz. At Emilio Pucci and Giambattista Valli, eyes were given a wash of pale colour to hollow and enhance shape, whilst Lucia Pieroni complemented messy plaits with illuminated skin for a “Nineties supermodel glow” at Giles.
In essence, it’s a look that’s all about using as few products as possible to create a look that is fresh, modern and real. As Guido Palau told us backstage: “Doing as little as possible but still looking good is the most modern thing that you can do right now.”
Make up artist Jan Bonito has become an overnight internet sensation thanks to his amazing makeup transformations.
He has done some of the characters from from American Horror story and also one of my favourites is that of Lana Del Rey.

We hear that yoga improves flexibility and gives us a feeling of relaxation. You know that the gym can help us lose weight, but did you know massaging the face can help with ageing?
The team behind skincare brand Decleor have released a 5 minute video called Decleor Gym Lift.
We do love Decleor and we provide the Ultimate Decleor facials at Patrice’s Art of Beauty so we will definitely be trying this.
When the winter months kick in, it can have an effect on the skin, causing everything from roughness, tightness red sore sensitive even cracked or peeling. Colder climates can be tough on your skin.
Cold temperatures often mean low humidity, which dries out skin. Bitterly cold winds strip the skin of its natural oil and water within the skin, which are there to protect your skin. This can leave the skin feeling dry, wind burnt, sore and dry hands and chapped lips may develop. Some skin conditions, such as eczema, can flare up during the cold weather.
The cold weather is not the only factor that will cause these skin problems. Our first instinct when it is cold is to try and keep warm. In your homes, work place and offices the heating will be on, so now we have dry air inside which will cause the oil and water within the skin to again be drawn out.
Here are some protective measures to prevent upsetting your skin this winter
Do we need to change our skincare as the seasons change?
Yes; as the cold weather changes, the way we look after our skin needs to change. First look at your cleansing product, a Gel cleanser or a cleanser that leaves your skin tight, could be too much for the skin in the winter. Using a gentle cleanser that doesn’t strip the skin is key to a healthy skin, that tight feeling after using some cleansers does not mean your skin is any cleaner it means you have removed too many natural oils. In the winter we need to hold on to those oils.
What about my day cream, should I change that?
Moisturising the skin is an important part in combating the effects of the weather. A day cream has to protect, hydrate and, the most important part is that it has to prevent water loss in the skin. It should keep the skin smooth and prevent any dryness or irritations. Modern day creams will not be thick and heavy they will feel light but still give the skin the natural ingredients it needs. The secret is if you are outside a lot or when you have been outside is to reapply your cream when you get back in. We need to drink more than one glass of water a day to hydrate the body in cold weather you may need to apply our face creams more than once.
Some of my favourites are Decleor Harmonie Cream, Decleor Hydra Floral, Image Prevention + Skincare Moisturiser as well as the Image Vital C Serum for extra hydration.
